A Beautiful and Prayerful Catholic Wedding in Surrey, London.

Sneaking away for the last few minutes of golden hour at a Catholic wedding.

Golden hour in Surrey

We just managed to catch the literal last few minutes of the sun.

It was disappearing behind the trees, but as a parting gift, it left us with these beautiful rays of golden light shining through.

A few quiet minutes away from the crazy (but cool) chaos of a reception.

And I think it summed up what was such a wonderful, prayerful and joyful wedding day.

A Catholic Nuptial Mass at Sacred Heart Church

The consecration and elevation

The Church was completely packed to the brim.

Every pew was full, and everyone there was praying for the bride and groom.

There was something really special about seeing so many people gathered together for the Sacrament of Marriage at their Catholic wedding mass. Not just to witness the wedding, but to pray for the couple as they began their married life together.

The incense rising through the Church with the beautiful reminder of what was happening: hundreds of prayers rising to Heaven.

A wedding day full of reverence and joy.

A beautiful Surrey wedding

From the Church to the reception, everyone had done their bit to make the day what it was.

The little details, the setting, the people, and the atmosphere all came together to create something really special.

And then, of course, there was the chance to sneak away for those final few minutes of golden hour.

These two were very much in love!

Which just makes taking couples’ portraits so much fun

The kind of photographs that bring you right back to how the day felt.

A little bit of Pride & Prejudice :)

Also..pink shoes? Bonus points for that.

Deo Gratias!

“When a husband and wife are united in marriage, they no longer seem like something earthly but rather like the image of God Himself.”

St John Chrysostom

What a beautiful thing marriage is.

And what a joy it was to photograph this one.

For anyone getting married next year, or the year after, it’ll be here sooner than you know it. :)

If you’re planning a Catholic wedding and looking for a photographer who understands the beauty and reverence of the day, I’d love to hear from you.
