Matt and Elinor's Engagement Story in Didsbury

In July I had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful engagement for Matt and Elinor. The story unfolded in the picturesque setting of Fletcher Moss Gardens in Didsbury. Keep reading for all the lovely details and photos from the occasion.

The Perfect Setting

On the 20th of July, Fletcher Moss Gardens provided the perfect backdrop for Matt and Elinor's engagement session. Lots of sun around to bathe all the wonderful flowers and colours in sunlight, but shadow and some overcast conditions added to the equation creating a photographers dream.

The "Headshot Session"

The day began with what Elinor thought was a scheduled headshot session, which we had disguised as a "fake LinkedIn" photoshoot. Matt wanted to get some photos for LinkedIn anyway, so what better way to set it all up, we thought. Little did she know, this was all part of Matt's plan to surprise her with a proposal. As we bided time taking headshots, Matt nervously awaited the perfect moment to make his move.

The Proposal

Then, Matt went from talking and posing for photos, to going down on one knee, and asked Elinor the question. Her surprised expression turned into pure joy as she said yes, while I smiled and watched on, having the privilege of freezing that moment in time forever.

After the Proposal

Following the perfect proposal, they commemorated the occasion by having me capture the raw emotions and overflowing happiness with a mixture of posed and candid shots. From candid shots amidst the blooming flowers to the more posed photographs that you would want framed and hung on a wall to see every day.

A Note from Me

I feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of Matt and Elinor's day, and to allow them to look back on it for years to come. It was very clear that their relationship is as vibrant as the gardens and flowers around us that day and I hope that through these photos, everyone can get a glimpse of that same warmth and joy that filled the air.

To Matt and Elinor, Thank you for trusting me with such a special moment.

Till next time,

Joachim
